OneDrive

OneDrive is Microsoft's online cloud storage for documents, slideshows, spreadsheets as well as any other files you choose to upload there.

As it is in the cloud you can access files there from any computer just by logging in using your web browser (or using an app if you are on a tablet / phone).  Work is also automatically saved as you go along.

To access your school OneDrive just log in to www.rmunify.com and click on the OneDrive tile (The logo is the blue cloud).

Clicking on the icon will log you in and take you to your home page.  You will find it easier if you immediately click on the "My Files" link found on the left of the page.

Once you have done this you will see your workspace.  You can use the blue "+ New " you see at the top.

Pro-tip : Start by creating a new folder for the subject you are working in - for example keeping all of your computing files together to keep your work organised.

In a folder you create documents or slideshows in the same way - using the + New button.

Your documents will not have a very useful name. If a word document, for example, it will just be called "document.docx", which will not help you find it later or know what is in it!

Click on the name in the top left of the document and it will allow you to change it...

Pro Tip - it is really useful if you include the following in the document title:

The subject (Useful for you)

Your name (Useful for your teacher)

The date (Useful for everyone)

Press return when you've typed the new name

As with other cloud work, it is possible to share your work, and collaborate with other students or show your work directly to your teacher in real time using the share button, and then choosing Share.

You can type the name of the person you are sending your work to, and it will find their account. You can also choose "edit" or "view" access

Pro Tip : Make sure you give your teacher "edit" access - this will let them mark your work, or give you tips and check wording more easily!

If someone shares a file with you then you will get an email with a link to go straight to that document.  You can also find all documents that have been shared with you by going to OneDrive and clicking on shared, which can be quicker.  All documents you have shared or that have been shared with you will appear here.
